Digital Membership Card - General FAQs (2024)

Through the Costco Mobile App, you can access a digital version of your membership card. Costco’s app will also allow you to renew your membership and view your 2% reward balance on your phone.

HOW DO I DOWNLOAD MY DIGITAL MEMBERSHIP CARD?

In order to access your Digital Membership Card, you must have an active Costco membership and a mobile device with an OS version from the following list:

Android Phones:

Samsung Galaxy
Samsung Note
Google Pixel for Android

Android OS Versions: 10, 11, and 12

Apple iPhones:

iPhone 12, 11, Xr, XS, 2020SE, X

iOS Versions: 15.x and 14

Note: The digital card will not operate on tablet devices.

To download your Digital Membership Card:

Download the newest version of the Costco app from the App Store® or the Google Play™ store.
Launch the Costco app, then tap the Card icon at the bottom of the screen. The login page will appear.
Follow instructions on the login page to sign in with an existing Costco.com account. If you do not have an existing Costco.com account, create one now. Each Digital Membership Card is tied to a specific Costco.com account. You cannot use the same email address for multiple Digital Membership Cards.
Verify your membership. If you have not previously verified your membership, you will be prompted to do so. To learn more about verifying online, click here.
View your Digital Membership Card. After successfully verifying your membership, the Digital Membership Card will appear on your screen.

I HAVE MORE THAN ONE PERSON ON MY MEMBERSHIP. WHY CAN’T I SEE ALL THE DIGITAL MEMBERSHIP CARDS IN THE APP?

Each Digital Membership Card will allow for one individual’s membership card per device. Though Primary and Household members are on the same membership, each person has a unique membership number. Each member must have a separate Costco.com account to access a Digital Membership Card. Only Business members who also have an additional membership linked to the same account may see multiple membership cards on a single Digital Membership Card account.

HOW DO I UPDATE MY DIGITAL MEMBERSHIP CARD PHOTO?
Please visit your local warehouse membership counter to update your photo. (Note: if you are a Costco Anywhere Visa® credit card holder, taking a new photo will automatically issue you a new credit card. The credit card number will not change.)

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY DIGITAL MEMBERSHIP CARD IS DISPLAYING INACCURATE INFORMATION?

If your Digital Membership Card displays inaccurate information, please visit your local Membership counter or contact us using the link on the left of this page to update your information.

HOW DO I TRANSFER MY DIGITAL MEMBERSHIP CARD ONTO A NEW PHONE?

On your new phone, open your Costco App and tap the membership tab. You will be prompted to transfer your Digital Membership Card onto your new device. You can transfer your digital card to a new phone one time before you need to visit the Membership counter or contact us using the link on the left of this page to reset your digital card. Transfers include uninstalling and reinstalling the app, even on the same phone. Screenshot versions of the digital card cannot be scanned at Costco registers.

WHAT IF MY PHONE IS LOST OR STOLEN?

If your phone contains your Digital Membership Card and is lost or stolen, please visit a Membership counter at your local warehouse to receive a new membership number. If you have a Costco Anywhere Visa® Card by Citi, you’ll receive a new credit card as well.

You’ll also want to change your Costco.com account password and reinstall your digital card on your new phone.

CAN I PAY USING MY DIGITAL MEMBERSHIP CARD?

If you have a Costco Anywhere Visa® Card by Citi, you can add it as a payment method to your Digital Membership Card. Read more details here.

CAN I ADD THE DIGITAL MEMBERSHIP CARD TO MY APPLE WALLET?

The Digital Membership Card is designed to offer members advanced features and will not be available in Apple Wallet

You can use your Digital Membership Card at any of the registers in the following areas:

Returns
Pharmacy
Hearing Aid
Optical

CAN I STILL USE MY PHYSICAL MEMBERSHIP CARD?

Yes, your physical card will still be accepted at all locations.
